I like trees. Obviously.

This website is the fruit of a search of almost two decades for more knowledge and understanding of trees and tree spirits across the world. I wrote also fictional stories which you can find in the Tree Atlas and or Tree Stories.

In the woods of Antwerp

Last night the crowdfunding for my debut novel ended... successfully 🥳. We would only proceed the project if we would succeed, so I am one step closer to call myself a published fiction author. A child dream comes true ... after 20 years! For a long time, untill less than one hear who I thought my debut novel would be about dryads, trolls, aliens or something “less” crazy than circular economy. But yes sometimes life happens and things work out in a different way 😉 Actually I put another writing project (which I started in 2010) on hold for this one, which is about ecoterrorism and trees. But that will be for end of 2020; after my PhD. In the meantime I collect ideas and start writing blogs in English for a third book I want to write after Japan. Working title is “wood wide” and this would be in English. The third book will be more autobiographical with a focus about woods and woodlanders I visited “woodwide” in the past 14 years, since my grandfather died in a forestry accident. This first book is more about what I learned about resources, waste ... in the past 4 years. The title of my debut novel could be translated as “If Furniture could talk” Book launch: 23 November in Antwerp. We will have more than 100 prints. From early December, we work with print-on-demand and also provide e-book version.

Last Sunday, I visited this winter wonderland on the top of a small mountain. Today I also heard I got accepted to stay in a researcher/artist residence above the arctic circle for some weeks in October 2020.
