Writing(with)plants (since 2021)

I am a co-initiator of an informal Community of Practice (CoP) where we learn how to learn and write with plants about the world, ourselves, places… It started in 2021, with online sessions, but gradually we are hosting on-land sessions. I have hosted more than 20 on-line and a few on-land workshops.

NSU study circle on the Ecology of transformative learning practices with(in) the more than human world (2025-2027)

I am a co-initiator and one of the coordinators of a few symposia of a study circle where we experiment with pedagogies and learning practices. This is part of the 80-year old Nordic Summer University (NSU) organization, registered in Sweden.

I was (co)responsible for the summer symposium 2025 in Finland (economy), the online winter symposium 2026 (ecomythology) and the summer symposium 2026 in Finland (ecotones).

Flowing with Eglė (since 2023)

I am an artist being part of experimentations with practices engaging with the Baltic Sea region, hydrofeminist lens, in order to (co)create an new eco-mythology, by rewriting and calibrating the old Baltic myth of Eglė, the queen of the grass snakes.

Ecologies of Care (2026-2028)

I am a part-time postdoctoral researcher, 4 days/week involved in a Driving Urban Transition project.

Ecologies of Care (EcoCARE) is a European research and practice project running from 2026 to 2028, exploring how multispecies design, ecological stewardship, and transformative pedagogy can regenerate peri-urban neighbourhoods. Rooted in Eindhoven in the Netherlands and connected to living labs in Sweden, France, and Romania, we work at the intersection of care ethics, nature-inclusive urbanism, and circular futures.

Besides research and organizing workshops, I am writing articles in Dutch and English for the project’s Substack account.

Multispecies Wendy House (2026-2028)

This is a spinoff of the European Ecologies of Care-project. I am writing -in Dutch- about the multispecies encounters in and around my tiny house and the circular regenerative neighborhood. I mention some academic frameworks, but I aim to write about nature inclusive living, design, maintenance and care work at a community scale to planning, design and maintenance at a city and bioregional level… in a way where more-than-human beings such as magpies, house spirits, migratory butterflies, toads and mosquitoes are described as co-habitants of the place. Not as a backdrop or as objects.

On this Substack, I also share a bit of my speculative project on rewilding local saints and Als Meubels Konden Spreken, my first fiction book, published in 2019 and co-funded by Circular Flanders. The Substack might evolve into ideas for academic articles and a next circular fiction book.

Op zoek naar Tussenland (Nieuwsbrief, sinds 2026 – only in Dutch)

We lezen graag verhalen over magische plekken ver weg. Over heilige tempelbossen in Japan, kliffen en feeënbomen in Ierland, fjorden in Noorwegen, die landschappen voelen nog betoverend aan. 

En dan kijken we rond ons heen … naar Vlaanderen, naar Nederland … en denken we: hier is het te vol, te rechtgetrokken, te laat.

Maar wat als dat niet waar is? In mijn brieven ga ik op zoek naar verwondering en betoverende plekken in de Lage Landen. Vaak begin ik vanuit een ander land en maak een koppeling terug met de Lage Landen.
