Writing(with)plants – We are looking for 3-5 hosts of online sessions November ’26 – February ’27

… in exchange for a free physical and digital copy of our Writing(with)plants book. In this way, we want to show that we value the knowledge and the time spent by the hosts of these online learning spaces.

This offer is only valid for people who have participated at least once in a previous online writing(with)plants session, hosted by Alette, Merrit, Heide, Lisa, Vitalija or Wendy. You should be ok to share your postal address, so we can send the book to your address, after you hosted this online session.

What is an online writing(with)plants?

An online session is a two-hour virtual gathering designed to slow down, connect wit plant people and plants and foster your imagination and creative writing, drawing, listening and storytelling skills, inspired by a specific “guest plant.

How do we support you in the preparation?

• We will give you access to a Google Drive with previous slide decks that you can download and transform.
• We will create a registration link on zoom and an event page on this website.
• We will make advertisement on our Instagram profile and our newsletter.
• We will answer your questions by email, and have a video call beforehand.
• You will get a digital copy before the session and the physical copy will be sent afterwards.

Hosting an online session is also a great way to receive feedback on your own learning story with a certain plant. We observed that hosts, who worked with the plant, learned more about the guest through especially the storytelling circles where the group is invited to share its wisdom (myths, scientific facts, memories, … about the guest plant).

You cannot exchange the book gift for money. However, you can always ask me to pack the book as a present and send it to someone else who might enjoy the book.

What do we expect from you?

• Prepare a slide deck for a two hour long session.
• Prepare a short text or a longer blog text that we can use for promotion. Preferably 4 weeks before the date of the session, so we can make enough promotion.
• Host on time, and be 30 minutes earlier in the zoom space to test all settings.
• Promote your online session in your own networks and invite 2 people personally.

How to apply?

Send an email to Wood wide web stories, with the following:

1. Name and where are you rooting/residing
2. Which guest plant
3. Why this guest plant (minimum 4 sentences)
4. Some keywords of a theme that you might want to explore
5. Minimum 4 dates and time slots

There is no deadline. You can also contact us in January 2027 with some proposals for a session in February. However, for promotion, we like to set and fix the date 4-6 weeks in advance.
